Coweta Recreation youth football teams raise over $6,000 for breast cancer awareness

The Coweta County Recreation Department hosted its annual Breast Cancer Awareness games on Saturday Oct. 14, at The Hunter Complex for its 7-8 and 9-10-year-old youth football leagues.  The Pink Posse serves those affected by the disease in Coweta and Fayette counties during their cancer treatment.  In all, the recreation department collected over $6,300 from its teams, with the top team in each division getting the opportunity to wear and keep the special pink jerseys during the game.  During the event, each coach is provided with a pink shirt and players wear pink wristbands while playing on a pink lined field.  This year the 7-8 Broncos (below) and the 9-10 Colts (above)  raised the most in their respective leagues. The Colts, coached by Mark Smith, raised $2,015. Team members include: J.R. Reeves, Nathan Scales, Scottie Wainwright, Drake Allen, Jorden Barber, Cristian Campos, Kaeson Chandler, Toby Coe, Coleman Connell, Cole Gilmore, Jackson Graetz, Landon Nation, Samuel Ray, Silas Stover, Lucas Walker, Ben Wesson and Jayden Wilder. 
The 7-8 year old Broncos, coached by Pat Lyons, had the privilege to wear and keep the pink jerseys for the Coweta County Recreation Department’s Breast Cancer Awareness games raising $1,500.  Team members include: Brayden Dutton, Demarcus Glenn, Noah Graetz, Zachary Grooms, Albert McCound, Gabriel McNeal, Will O'Neal, Connor Pair, Killian Prince, Thomas Ramey, James Reasor, Andrews Sepulveda, Keondre Smith, Kaleb Stewart, Jake Walden and Caleb Hill.
